Athens-Clarke County, comprised of 125 square miles, is the smallest in land area of Georgia's 159 counties. City Hall, situated in downtown Athens on one of the highest points in Athens, is approximately 761 feet above sea level. It was the twenty-5th county established in the state and is situated
