Welcome to Accelerando, creating pretty music throughout the Northern Virginia and D. C. Area. Accelerando is a musical term meaning to gradually increase in speed. Our teaching approach is rooted in the philosophy that music is a powerful catalyst that can jump start your child's neural and physical development as early as infancy, and continue to foster a sense of confidence and individual fulfillment as he/she grows. Katie Ribik (owner/instructor) is a certified music educator who will bring her passion for music to your doorstep.

read moreAccelerando's birthday parties work best with smaller groups. We do not use any amplification as we are trying to create an intimate "parent and me" music and movement experience. Every party starts out with an energetic Welcome Song where we all get to be very silly! We then move into fingerplays using puppets and a guitar sing-a-long with a familiar tune or two like "The Wheels on the Bus". By this point, the kiddos are ready to get up and move around! Accelerando Music's movement and action songs are easy to learn, goofy, and super fun!

The strongest teacher is one who is not only accomplished on his/her instrument, but who is also trained in HOW to teach, and loves doing so. Katie Kraft and Jennifer Ferenz are both certified music instructors who have extensive teaching experience both in elementary general music classrooms as well as private music studio settings. We offer both in-home and studio lessons. Studio lessons are available at Miss Katie's home studio in Belle Haven on Mondays and Fridays.
