Funeral Services in Hartford, CT The Ahern Funeral Home. Was established in 1886 by J. J. Ahern and Francis Ahern in the city of Hartford, on the corner of Main and Pearl. Later, the funeral home was moved to 100 Pearl Street, where the business was conducted until 1906, when they built the 1st building used specifically for funeral services within the city of Hartford at 101 Chapel Street. In 1934, The Ahern Funeral Home moved to its current location at 180 Farmington Avenue, where the business was managed by the nephews of the two founders.
