1st and foremost, the AFL is a fun place to learn the French language. Classes for all ages and skill levels are provided. We teach classes in French culture and travel skills. Some of these are taught in English. These are informal discussion sessions that meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. These lively interactions will increase your knowledge of France and the French-speaking world, as well as your French language ability. Come to learn from informative speakers, practice your French, or simply to improve your listening comprehension. People of all skill levels are welcome!

History: The Alliance Franaise de Louisville was founded in 1914 with a focus on cultural events such as plays and social gatherings. However, it was not until 1987 that Evelyn Cohn founded our school and AFL began offering French language classes to the Louisville community. General information: The Alliance Franaise de Louisville, located in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, is a local chapter of the Alliance Franaise network and, as such, is organized in accordance with the by-laws of the parent organization, which was created in 1883 to encourage and further the knowledge of the French culture and language and to foster friendly relations between the American and French people.
