Pet Services & Supplies in Vacaville, CA
Pet Services & Supplies in Vacaville, CA Cute barely covers Ruby, the newest porcine resident! This 6-week-old piglet is a personable, sassy little lady whose fate wasn't so good. Ruby is a heritage breed of pig. Had she been born healthy, instead of a runt, she would have run free on pasture and grazed fresh grass. And at the young age of 6-mos-old, she would have been sent to the slaughterhouse. For Ruby, living on a humane farm still meant an untimely death. A visitor to the farm provided to take the sickly pig off the farm's hands. They agreed and Ruby was on the road to recovery!

About Us
read moreFounded in 1989 Animal Place is one of the oldest and largest sanctuaries for farmed animals in the country. Nestled on 600-acres in Grass Valley, CA, Animal Place provides refuge to hundreds of neglected farmed animals. In addition to permanent sanctuary, Animal Place's new Rescue and Adoption Center in Petaluma is focused on placing needy farmed animals into permanent homes. Sanctuary is important work, but Animal Place strives to create meaningful change for farmed animals through advocacy and education.
Dogs
read moreAnimal Place has partnered with the Center for Animal Protection & Education (CAPE) and Compassion without Borders (CWOB) to provide safe haven to dogs rescued from Mexico. The dogs are available for adoption through Animal Place's and CAPE's dog adoption program. To donate to the care of the dogs, give here. Thanks to the hard work of CWOB, all of the dogs available here have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and treated for fleas and ticks. Submit an adoption form to get started for the dog you think best fits your family and we will go from there.
The Animals
read moreAnimal Place is home to 430+ permanent nonhuman residents. Cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, goats, rabbits, and turkeys are provided with food and shelter, medical care and, of course, lots of love! Not everyone gets a chance to visit the sanctuary in person, so here is an opportunity for you to get to know the residents here at Animal Place one-on-one.
