The HomeAgain Microchip is a safe, non-migrating microchip with an unalterable 10 digit code which lasts the entire life of your pet. The chip is approximately the size of a grain of rice and is injected between your pet's shoulder blades. While collars with identification tags are strongly recommended for all cats and dogs, they can be lost or removed leaving the lost pet with no means of verifying its owner.

People residing in the unincorporated area of Clark County are no longer required to have a pet license. In order to obtain a license for your pet you must have a current Rabies certificate. Other vaccines are strongly recommended for the protection and health of your pet as well as other animals they may come in contact with, i.e. grooming and boarding facilities, dog parks, etc. Puppies and kittens receive important nutrients and antibodies from their mothers' milk while they are nursing.

Spayed and neutered pets are less apt to roam, decreasing risk of fights or traumas such as being hit by a vehicle. Cats that are spayed and neutered are less prone to urine marking behavior. Spaying a female dog or cat decreases the risk of breast cancer, especially if done before the first heat cycle. Other health benefits of spaying include avoiding uterine cancer and preventing the life-threatening uterine infection called pyometra.

read moreSurgical procedures are performed at Ann Road Animal Hospital every day of the week, although it is preferred that we keep elective surgeries for Monday-Saturday. An appointment is advised. We ask that all patients check-in between 6-9 am on the morning of the scheduled surgery, and please allow for at least 15 minutes to meet with a veterinarian. The owner, or authorized agent, dropping off an animal for surgery must be at least 18 years old. It is important that no food be given after 11:00 pm the night before; please also limit water intake.
