Eyewear Store in Boise, ID
Eyewear Store in Boise, ID Our firm was established in 1991 by Dr. Jeffrey Johnson and his wife Lynda. It has been said that it was purely by accident, and unexpected. Others have said it was fate. Whatever it was, here's how we started. Jeff and Lynda moved from California so Jeff could attend Boise State University. There he completed his undergraduate degree and worked at St. Luke's hospital as an x-ray technician. In 1987, upon graduation from B. S. U. He headed off to Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.

About Us
read moreThe OCT technology provides digital image processing to accurately measure the retinal nerve fiber layer. The OCT is the gold standard in vivo imaging device for the posterior segment and offers proven reproducible results for disease diagnosis and management. The OCT provides real-time cross-sectional images and quantitative analysis of retinal features to optimize the diagnosis and monitoring of retinal disease and for pre- and post-therapy assessment. The device is beneficial for evaluation of cataract patients, pre-and post-operatively, and for the assesment of early signs of glaucoma and retinal disease.
Urgent Care
read moreYou do not need a referral. Immediate and urgent eye care appointments are considered medical visits. When you contact our office please be prepared to provide your current medical insurance information so we can better assist you. Why call Artisan Optics? We can help you avoid a costly visit to a hospital emergency room and those long wait times. Studies have shown that an overwhelming number of emergency room eye-related visits could have been treated in-office by an optometrist.
Eye Diseases and Eye Disorders
read moreUnfortunately, the first indication of an eye disease may not occur until the disease has become quite advanced, when the first symptom may be irreversible vision loss. For this reason early detection and diagnosis are critical, and play a significant role in the success rate of treatment. Preventative care is an important first step to early diagnosis. That's why our doctors recommend dilated, comprehensive eye exams to detect eye diseases in their early stages before vision loss occurs. It is important to remember that vision loss due to eye disease is typically a gradual loss of vision.
Specialty Vision Services
read moreThrough the use of OCT, visual field, and retinal photography, our doctors are able to monitor your eye health to detect conditions before they affect your vision. With early detection, we are able to initiate treatment sooner and preserve your vision and eye health. Diagnostic imaging is crucial when monitoring conditions such as diabetes within the eye, glaucoma, or macular degeneration. There are multiple causes of dry eye, and the use of artificial tears alone is only adequate for a small percentage of people.
At Artisan Optics the sports vision
read moreEven if you have an eye exam every year and your eyes are healthy, you can still benefit from seeing our sports vision specialists at Advanced Vision Therapy Center, who specialize in sports vision. A typical eye exam doesn't test all of the visual skills used by athletes. Sports vision assessments are much more extensive. At Advanced Vision Therapy Center, their sports vision assessments compare your visual skills to those of over 2,500 professional and Olympic athletes. The data gathered from the professional and Olympic athletes provide a baseline comparative analysis of a wide range of visual skills - all of which are key performance indicators.
