read moreWe live in a great neighborhood in Carlsbad; there are lots of nice kids for the boys to play with and really good neighbors, one of which is Stacy. She's almost a next door neighbor, her house is across the street from us and when we first moved here we noticed the Arizona license plates in one of their cars, inevitably we started talking about AZ and kids and house stuff. Stacy is a super sweet person that happens to be married to another Greg, too funny. A few months ago I had the pleasure to photograph their baby daughter Bryn when she was just 6 days old.

When Kim and I met to plan for the photo session, she had a specific idea of what kind of background and look she wanted for the session. We talked about many locations, she visited them, I visited a couple of new ones and we found the perfect spot. The images turned out exactly how she had envisioned. These are a few of our favorites! Nothing better than a photo session with the most important little people in your life, to celebrate being a mom.

read moreFun Fridays are always more fun when artwork goes on the walls. I am going to start posting more Wall Collections installations pictures. Today I had the pleasure of installing Stephanie's canvas collection. Once they were all hanging, we could not help but look at the canvases and admire how nice it is to have beautiful family portraits on the wall, brought a big smile to our faces. I love this Wall Collection! We have some great canvases for baby's room, they are sure to make a splash in the nursery.

read moreI first spoke with Karina two years ago, she called to schedule a photo session for her first pregnancy and we got along famously. A little while later I photographed sweet baby Lila Jean shortly after her arrival, you can see her newborn session images here. Since then I've capture many more special moments. I so love spending time with them, we can just sit and talk for hours and usually our photo sessions are really long because of all the fun conversation. So now, we're on to Round II. This maternity photoshoot was so easy.

read moreThis is one of our favorite recipes. Bobo de Galinha is a very popular dish made in Brazil but instead of chicken it is usually made with shrimp and served inside a hollowed pumpkin, it looks so delicious and fancy the only problem is that I don't eat seafood, it simply does not agree with me. I decided to try the recipe using chicken instead and just like that, we created Bobo de Galinha! This is a very tasty, creamy and gluten free dish that will please everyone. Directions: Boil the chicken breast until fully cooked, about 20-30 min.

read moreThat was the plan at least. My seemingly innocent proposal was, "If you catch one, of course you can keep it." I was pretty sure they would not be able to catch a lizard, Mateo was 6, Lucas was 5 and the lizards in our backyard in Arizona were pretty darn fast. It was just about dark, when they scurried out of house, flashlight and mason jar in hand. I remember having that glorious parenting feeling of winning an argument without arguing and thinking I was pretty smart too. Actually, I felt that way for the better part of an hour, until my sweet little boys came back running into the house with (brace yourselves) a lizard in a jar! Yep, there it was, a real, live lizard.

read moreThe beach is a marvelous location for photo sessions, little kids, big kids, everybody loves the ocean. It makes for a perfect casual, relaxed and easy going Photo shoot. This family is so lovely together! Just another beautiful day at the beach with fun, loving and very energetic (adorable) kids! We all had fun, but the kids were over the moon playing on the water and running around. I love beach photoshoots. On the day of our photo session, the weather was just right, the ocean breeze was gentle and the sun colored the late afternoon sky in orange and pink.
