Commercial & Industrial Paving
read moreAthens-Atlanta Asphalt specializes in commercial and industrial asphalt paving, including installation of highly durable state-of-the-art Perma-Flex asphalt paving. We create pavements that will last. What if preliminary sitework must be completed, or severely damaged paving must be removed before new paving can be placed? That's no problem at Athens-Atlanta Asphalt. We can take care of grading, placement of crusher run stone subbase, and any and every other aspect of the paving process. Our crews complete projects ranging from small commercial or church parking lots, to very large parking lots for major distribution centers and industrial sites, to roadways for residential, commercial and industrial sites.
Asphalt Repair
read moreLarge areas of cracked and deteriorating asphalt pavement are most efficiently restored by overlaying them with a one to two inch lift of a state-of-the-art flexible asphalt pavement mix known as Perma-Flex. This unique mix, developed by Jim Dykes of Norcross, Ga., is designed to bridge cracks and prevent them from "reflecting" through into the new pavement. It can also increase the strength of your pavement. Perma-Flex has been widely used on numerous large-scale repair jobs with phenomenal results, and it is ideal for large pavement repair jobs in the Southeast.
read moreLine marking, or striping, is an important component of many paving jobs. The line marking is installed on new or recently sealed pavement after a short curing time, typically about a week. Pavement marking often includes striping, which we place using state-of-the-art airless spray equipment. After repaving this facility, the linemarking is installed using GA D.O.T. Approved Marking Paint. Besides striping, pavement marking frequently involves signage (for handicapped parking spaces or no-parking areas, for example) as well.
Asphalt Repair
read moreWhen asphalt pavement begins to crack and deteriorate, you know that potholes (and the costly damage they can cause) are not far away. It is important to repair such areas before small problems become big ones, and Athens-Atlanta stands ready to handle those repairs for you. To repair small confined areas of damaged pavement, our crews first square off and saw cut the damaged area, removing the deteriorated pavement. We then carefully inspect the existing pavement base, re-compacting and repairing it as necessary.
read moreAthens-Atlanta handled its first concrete job in 1985 and has maintained a specialized concrete crew ever since. We specialize in placement of new curb and gutter, construction of sidewalks, and construction of concrete aprons and dumpster pads. We are also equipped to handle removal and replacement of deteriorated or damaged concrete. Perhaps your site has a section of curb or a loading apron that has been damaged by heavy traffic. We can remove the damaged sections and replace them with new concrete, enhancing the functionality and safety of your site.
read moreThe Parking lot of our development is showing age, How do we determine when it's ready for repair? Asphalt is a porous material, susceptible to oxidation from the sun and damage from chemicals such as gasoline, diesel fuel, oil and antifreeze. Asphalt pavement will also ravel away over time. Sealcoating not only makes your pavement look new, it protects it from oxidation and petroleum spills. Sealcoating should be done every 3 - 5 years depending on use. Sealcoating your pavement allows it to be cleaned easier because it is not pourse.
