In February 1984 Jennings R. Hood and some family members organized Team Mates Trusses. The start-up firm started operations in April with 3 full-time and 3 part-time employees. With hard work, ingenuity, and skill the young company flourished attaining sales of 1. 5 million by the end of 1987. In early 1989 family members decided to sell the business to pursue other interests. On November 1, 1989 Jennings R. Hood and James H. Broach bought the business and changed the business to Team Mates of Charleston.

This location employs around 100 employees in and of itself and produces around $20 million per year in Trusses and EWP. In 1991, we acquired the former Truss Systems in Easley, SC. This manufacturing location allows us easy access to Greenville, SC, Asheville, NC, Columbia, SC, and even into parts of the Charlotte, NC market.
