Bearing Service. Was set up in 1943 by Herbert Mann, a former executive of the Ahlberg Bearing Company. Mr. Mann recognized the declining role of ball bearing re-manufacturers, such as Ahlberg, as an opportunity for distributors of new bearings. For over twenty five years, the Company operated successfully from a single, centralized location in Detroit, selling a range of bearings and related products. The firm is now an independently owned & operated 3rd-generation multi-branch distributor of bearings and power transmission products.
