I'm excited to be joining the Berkeley Opera staff as Artistic Director with Jonathan Khuner as Music Director. This partnership will take advantage of a long friendship and working relationship that Jonathan and I founded over the course of several collaborations. Our combined knowledge and connections in the opera world will make for exciting productions for Berkeley Opera audiences in the years to come. This season sees us in a new venue. Berkeley West Edge Opera's mission is to present opera as lively, compelling musical theater, fusing music and drama to delight, move, and challenge our audiences, while remaining accessible, affordable and engaging. Performances this season have moved to the beautiful new state-of-the-art Performing Arts Theater at El Cerrito High School.
