Acupuncture & Acupressure in Boise, ID
Acupuncture & Acupressure in Boise, ID Dr. Noah Edvalson grew up right across the Idaho border from Boise in LaGrande, OR. He made frequent trips to Boise as a child to take advantage of the many activities Boise has to provide, and he is very excited to now be living in the Boise area. Dr. Edvalson has always been interested in health care. As a child he would peruse the pages of a pathology book his parents had, mostly intrigued by the pictures. The complexity of the human body and its natural capability to heal itself was always inspiring to Noah, so he was naturally drawn to the natural health care field.

Ultrasound
read moreUltrasound is just that - sound waves. It penetrates deep into your tissues to break up scar tissue and fibrotic adhesions that cause pain and inflammation. It also provides a deep heating effect to warm up the tissues. Ultrasound can help with things like plantar fascitis, tendonitis, and sprain/strains.
Cold Laser
read moreAlso known as Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT), this modality has become very popular in sports injuries, and most professional athletic teams now use cold laser therapy. This is an absolutely pain free therapy that can have dramatic results and speeds up the repair time of most injuries. It also works great for chronic conditions. It usually requires several treatments to notice a difference, and 10-12 doses are recommended for best results. We recommend treatments 2-3 times per week for 3-4 weeks.
Low Back Pain
read moreSome surveys have shown that up to 90% of Americans will experience back pain at some point in their lives. Back pain is also one of the biggest reasons employees miss work - this means higher insurance premiums for everyone. The anatomy of the back is extremely complex. Each vertebral segment has several joints that it meets with. You have the costo-vertebral joints in the thorax, the intervertebral disc, and the facet joints. All of these joints are surrounded by ligaments and muscles, some of which are thinner than a pencil.
Migraines
read moreI am sorry if you've had to live with these. They can be horrible events. The key to managing migraine headaches is to identify the trigger causing the events. Food, sounds, stress, bright blinking lights, and sleep deprivation are some common triggers. I recommend you start a diary to track the events just prior to your migraine. Next time you experience a migraine write down all of the food and activities you are involved in leading up to the migraine. This is a key step in decreasing the frequency of your headaches.
Acupuncture
read moreAcupuncture is an ancient medicine, much older and more widely practiced than our modern system of drugs and surgery. It is another tool in our toolbox to help you achieve optimum health. Dr. Noah Edvalson completed post-graduate training with the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, and has achieved Fellow status. He uses acupuncture to help many of his complicated cases, and is consistently impressed with the results. If you are in the Boise or Meridian area, please call us today to set up your evaluation and treatment.

If you are having headaches more than a couple of times each month, something is wrong. The question is obviously, "what is causing your headaches?" I guarantee you that it is not an Advil deficiency! You should expect nothing less from your healthcare practitioner than a careful evaluation into the root cause of your problem.
