Bomar Industries was set up in November of 1991. The owners, Bob Buchanan and Mark Buchanan, started work in a 1000 square foot section of their father's pole barn. The brothers had built up a working machine shop over some 20 years of restoring and racing automobiles. Both brothers had worked in and around engineering and manufacturing and decided in 1991 to forego employment with Amtrak and try to make their dream of owning a metal fabrication shop come true.
