The Bourneuf Corp, a wholesale and retail distributor of plumbing, heating and industrial products, was established in 1893 by Louis Bourneuf, a French-Canadian carpenter, and a local plumber named Frank Linehan. They opened a shop on Essex Street in Swampscott and the business grew from there. In 1902, the firm moved to Oxford Street in Lynn. At the Lynn facility, they introduced a new product invented by an area resident. A hub roof flange, invented and patented by Fritz Nies, was distributed throughout New England.
