Bunte Auction Service
Antique Dealers in Elgin, IL
We thought a little history regarding the formation of our firm would be helpful. Since the merger of Butterfield with Dunning's in 1998 and their subsequent move to downtown Chicago we saw a need for a mid-size suburban auction company. With encouragement from both buyers and consignors we currently have founded what we see as a much needed service. Our decision to remain in Elgin was driven by the desire of those same buyers and consignors. We'll aim to build a client friendly firm with ethics, fairness and integrity paramount in all decisions made.

Due to a 2021 change in Illinois law, every lot will now be subject to sales tax, regardless of the lot's origination or the buyer's state of residence. If you have a Certificate of Resale, we will need a copy of the certificate on record in order to remove sales tax from an invoice. The buyer is responsible for arranging packing and shipping once they have purchased lots.
