We want our kids to feel lovable and capable, to be respected and respectful. We believe positive team interactions will promote their social/emotional health and our hands-on curriculum will build their physical/mental competency. We like to be the wind beneath their wings. Carolyn Hall established Butterflies in 1984 on Pandora Street. In 1996 she opened the current location on Rue Louis, where she is the manager. The Pandora location has since been sold to new management.

Our Staff
read moreAll of our lead teachers have their Louisiana Ancillary Teaching Certificate. We choose our teachers for their classroom experience, training, dependability and caring attitude. Staff screening includes an extensive application, intensive interview, reference check of past employers, and rigorous background check. All of our teachers have their current CPR & First Aide, and obtain 15 workshop hours every year in health, safety and child development.

read moreWe believe that children learn by doing. This means lots of hands-on activities that are appropriate for a child's age and individual abilities. Our caring teachers make our infant room a safe and nurturing place to be. A baby's favorite "toy" is the human face. That's why interaction with the children is our primary focus. We use the Creative Curriculum to incorporate language and learning into their routines and play time. Our younger preschoolers are very active learners. So we provide a choice of indoor activity areas that include a book corner; a table area for art, puzzles and other table toys; a floor area for blocks, vehicle and large motor toys; a home center for pretend and social play; a sensory play table; a dowel climber and a loft.
Summer
read moreYou will find us at the Skatezone, Acadiana Lanes, Chuck E. Cheese, a weekly theme trip, and the Friday Adventure trip. Unique incentives encourage our campers to read and write during the summer. These include trophies, patches and awards, toys and candy, extra trips, and a grand finale weekend trip to dinner-and-a-movie. Campers receive their camp and reading/writing awards amidst the applause of family and friends. Our games room is fully equipped with pool tables, bumper pool, foosball, air hockey, block corner, dramatic play, table games, and much more.
