The history of the C.W. Worth House, a North Carolina bed and breakfast, began with Charles W. Worth who was a wholesale grocery merchant, as well as a commission merchant in cotton and naval stores at the turn of the 20th century. The C.W. Worth House became a bed and breakfast in 1985 and remains the longest operating inn in historic Wilmington.

I am absolutely in love with this B&B! It is gorgeous inside and out, the rooms are beautiful and incredibly comfortable and homey. It's super clean and has perfect air quality. That sounds strange to mention in a review, but I'm allergic to mold, so it’s something I always pay attention to. The owners even accommodated my food allergies on the fly! I didn't tell them ahead of time, so they found out at breakfast and they came up with the perfect meal for me. They also stayed up late to let us in when we arrived. We felt so completely taken care of, and cared for! I just read that the B&B is under new ownership as of 2 months ago, but I would think they had been doing this forever. I cannot recommend it enough.

The Worth house is, as the name suggests, worth a visit! Seriously, this bed and breakfast is wonderful. The owners have really dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's. The reservation process was easy and we were warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in. Our room was comfortable and the amenities were great, from the complimentary toiletries, to the room fridge, to the comfy bed and pillows! The location, right downtown near the big Presbyerian church, is perfect. We walked to the riverfront for dinner. The Worth House grounds are gorgeous and there are multiple places to rest and relax, from two front rooms, to a porch, to a backyard fire pit. We found parking on the street right out front, and there is more parking around back. AND BREAKFAST! Whew, we enjoyed fruit and a delicious Mediterranean quiche. We are grateful to have found this gem in the city. We will be back!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the C.W. Worth House this week. Having gone to many bed and breakfast locations, C.W. Worth House ranks absolutely first. The owners became our tour guides for the week helping us find some of the Wilmington areas best kept secrets. The room was top notch. The backyard garden was amazing. Everything was in walking distance to include a river walk for our morning coffee. And the gourmet breakfasts at C.W. alone was worth the stay!
