Get ready to shake off cabin fever and stretch your legs at Community Action Center's Spring Sprint 5K & 2K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, March 27, 2010. The race qualifies as a Run and See Georgia event and will take place in the Perimeter Mall area. After the race enjoy a post-run Family Health and Fitness Fair with with kids's fitness related activities and games; visit with DeKalb County Fire & Rescue and experience rescue vehicles up close; partake in free health screenings; taste healthy food samples and visit with fitness vendors.

read moreCommunity Assistance Center, originally known as Community Action Center, was founded by local faith based community members who saw an increasing need to provide and centralize assistance to local families and individuals seeking help in the Sandy Springs and Dunwoody communities. The Sandy Springs Ministerial Association had a vision and formed a 5-member commission, the Community Action Commission, to create a ministry that was sustainable. The commission established the mission and created an organizational structure for an independent agency as well as garnered broader based support for the effort.
