Cook's started in 1928 by John L. Cook in Decatur, Alabama, as North Alabama Termite Control. The termite control industry was just beginning and had no trade magazines or specialized equipment. Tools had to be adapted for use in the developing industry. Delivering protection from little white ants, later known as termites, was the focus of John Cook's business. He was a pioneer within the industry, and as the years progressed, his conviction deepened as he saw a definite need for protecting domestic and commercial buildings.

read moreBrian Cook, the 4th generation of the Cook family to work at Cook's Pest Control, served Cook's Pest Control Inc. in a variety of service, sales, and management roles including Customer Care Manager and Director of Business Development. He assumed his current role of CEO in 2017. In the same year, Cook assumed leadership of the development and construction of the new Cook Museum of Natural Science. He is also the Museum's President and Chairman of the Board. Cook earned his undergraduate degree at Samford University and his MBA from the University of Alabama.
