Therefore it can be scaled to any size without loss of quality. BITMAP/RASTER FORMATS - Art is created using a program like Adobe Photoshop or scanned art (such as a photographic image). A raster image consists of a grid, or bitmap of small squares called pixels. Raster images are set at a fixed resolution, and are not designed to be enlarged out of the realm they are designed in.
