Many people are surprised to hear that Phil Dill Boats was not always a retail marine dealership. The firm actually started as a sheet metal fabricator & manufacturer serving the drive-in theatre concession industry in the early 50's. His business was known as the General Manufacturing Company. In 1954 Phil Dill was commissioned to develop a line of aluminum boats called the Cruiser Craft. This line consisted of 11 models, one of which was called the Sunbeam Family Cabin Cruiser. See photo below. After three years of successful manufacturing, Phil Dill turned his interest to retailing and, as they say.
