read moreNilsen Eye Care was founded in 1998, when Dr. Eric Nilsen traveled south from his home in upstate New York in search of warm weather and a friendly community where he could set up his practice. He is thankful and appreciative to call Midlothian and Richmond his home. His wife, Dr. Alexandra Nilsen, came on board in 2000. From there, the practice continued to grow at a moderate pace, bringing on Dr. Craig Perry in 2004 and Dr. Anthony Stacy in 2016. We operate our family-friendly optometry office on North Courthouse Road in Chesterfield, Virginia, and serve members throughout the Greater Richmond area.

He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, discovering his passion for Optometry and continued his education to the Southern College of Optometry. Once he made the decision to relocate to the Richmond area to pursue his career and raise a family with his wife, Jessica, he came to understand the tight-knit community feel that this city has to offer.
