EMH&T was originally established in 1926 by Gordon Evans as a surveying business in Gahanna, Ohio. In 1950, Wilbur Mechwart joined Evans and was responsible for laying out subdivisions. Evans and Mechwart continued to conduct business in the Sandusky Street residence until July of 1955 when Wallace Hambleton and John Tilton joined the company and the partnership of four became officially known as Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton & Tilton.
