In 1936 Clarence Evans got a job on the East coast working for a firm building sign cabinets for Neon. His employer was Claude Neon, who had previously invented Neon and was introducing the product to the US. In 1960 Donald Evans, son of Clarence Evans began working in a sheet metal apprenticeship program working with air-conditioning and heating. After completing the apprentice program he got a job in California with Nelson Neon and later with Modern Neon. Donald was head of the manufacturing division and often found himself dealing with the install crews.
