W Contra Costa County educators, civic leaders, mental health specialists and residents founded Familias Unidas in 1979. The founders of our nonprofit organization envisioned a community counseling and information center helping people in a holistic and culturally appropriate manner. Our programs use the Health Model to supply preventive health education and outreach, psychosocial case management support and psychotherapy.
