Online Counseling includes terms such as telepsychology, telebehavioral health, teletherapy and distance counseling. Online counseling does not include the use of fax, email or video telephone products such as FaceTime and Skype. Family Solutions, PLLC and its clinical staff are only able to provide online counseling services to clients located in North Carolina where we hold valid licenses as mental health professionals.

As a result, we have invested time and resources into developing clinical skills that strengthen and support this system of care. We provide training and consultation to communities that are interested in building and supporting their own system of care for children. This could include early childhood mental health consultation, implementing evidence-based practices, strategies to improve organizational capacity, and development of billing systems to increase program sustainability.

read moreSix Family Solutions therapists currently provide on-site mental health consultation to the Early Head Start and Head Start programs in Guilford County through Guilford Child Development. Our therapists screen potential children (Early Head Start - ages 0-3 and Head Start - ages 3-5) with behavioral issues, and provide site visits, individual consultation/play therapy with children, families and classroom teachers. Currently, Guilford Child Development has over 1100 children enrolled in Early Head Start and Head Start.

Kali Marsh, Tessa Pearson and Sarah Dick have completed their EMDR training and are approved by the EMDR Institute. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference.
