Online Counseling includes terms such as telepsychology, telebehavioral health, teletherapy and distance counseling. Training and Consultation
read moreWe have experience in developing and implementing programs along the child service continuum. Having an early childhood system of care is important to our agency and our community. As a result, we have invested time and resources into developing clinical skills that strengthen and support this system of care. We provide training and consultation to communities that are interested in building and supporting their own system of care for children. This could include early childhood mental health consultation, implementing evidence-based practices, strategies to improve organizational capacity, and development of billing systems to increase program sustainability.
Early Childhood Mental Health
read moreSix Family Solutions therapists currently provide on-site mental health consultation to the Early Head Start and Head Start programs in Guilford County through Guilford Child Development. Our therapists screen potential children (Early Head Start - ages 0-3 and Head Start - ages 3-5) with behavioral issues, and provide site visits, individual consultation/play therapy with children, families and classroom teachers. Currently, Guilford Child Development has over 1100 children enrolled in Early Head Start and Head Start.
School-Based Therapy
read moreOur expertise in early mental health interventions with preschool-aged children has naturally led us to continue treatment with many families after children have entered elementary school. This continuity of care has been beneficial to many families as they transition into new school settings. Behavioral consultation often involves navigating the emotions of dealing with special learning needs, and helping children work on social-emotional development in the classroom setting. We provide coaching and support for parents, teachers and school staff as part of reaching treatment goals.

Our Story
read moreBut he believed in himself. And as a licensed clinical social worker, he believed he had ideas how to improve care, make services more effective and help people in need change their lives. Today, the agency he created employs 36 outpatient therapists who help clients in four surrounding counties as well as from their three offices in Greensboro, Burlington and Archdale. He has a strong partner - his wife, Anita, a licensed professional counselor supervisor. Together, they steer an agency that provides an array of mental health services to individuals, children, and families in the Triad.
