Veterinarians in Providence, RI Ferguson Animal Hospital was began in Newport Rhode Island in 1931, by Howard F. Ferguson, D. V. M. A graduate of Ontario Veterinary College. Dr. Ferguson treated family pets, and farm animals. When World War II broke out it became Dr. Ferguson's duty to watch over Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut's farm animals. In order to be more centrally situated the doctor moved his practice to North Providence in 1942. George H. Ferguson joined his father's practice in 1962 after graduating from Michigan State Veterinary College.
