Music Lessons in Tulsa, OK
Music Lessons in Tulsa, OK We know you have choices in musical merchandise. Thanks for looking at our site! We have been around forever - we began in 1978. So, we are not your average fly-by-night e-commerce site. We are an old fashioned brick and mortar store with a passion for music and a preference for people over profits. We understand that there's a music store out there that claims to be a great center of guitars. But do they know you by name and can you stand the noise and high pressure sales? There's even a mail order site that claims to be your friend. But will they loan you a piece of equipment when you need it!

About Us
read moreAs we said on our home page, we are now the Tulsa area's oldest music store still owned and operated by its founder. In October, 1978, Ray Firey opened a 600 square foot music studio for music lessons west of Sand Springs-naming the business after the family gospel group (comprised of him and his brothers) who regularly sang in the area at the time. Firey Bros. Music quickly grew from its orgins as a music studio into a retail music store when students started requesting musical accessories. Since that time in 1978, Ray has witnessed many changes along the way.
Notable Mentions
read moreChristian gave Firey Bros. Music a couple tickets and backstage pages to Lanie Luttrell who was working that Saturday. Lanie went to the concert with her mom and really enjoyed the music of the group that were all the rage almost 30 years before she was born. Lanie said, "The Monkees connected with the younger generation in the crowd (such as me) as much as they did with the older fans." Side Note: While researching the Monkeys, we discovered that Michael Nesmith's mother invented a typewriter correction fluid, later known as Liquid Paper in 1955.

How I established Firey Bros
read moreRay: Since the early 1970's, my brothers and I (John & Steve) had a little gospel band called "The Firey Brothers". In the mid to late 70's, we sang in a lot of churches in the Tulsa area as well as were regulars on a local TV show called "The John Chick Show." It just seemed fitting at the time to give the store a name people were already somewhat familiar with, so with the blessing of my brothers, I called the store, Firey Brothers Music. There are actually five "brothers" in my family (Bill, David, Steve, John and me-Ray) and one real pretty sister (Linda).
