Malcolm received his Associates Degree in Emergency Medical Science from Fayetteville Technical Community College, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society of the Two Year Colleges. In 2004, he graduated with honors from Winston Salem State University with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing while still working as a complete-time Paramedic. While at WSSU, he was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
