Garden District Book Shop

Every school in St. Bernard Parish was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. On August 11, 2010, the district will complete its school building projects re-opening the last of the damaged schools. The district has been fortunate in the past to have financial assistance for the re-opened libraries through several foundations, such as the Laura Bush Foundation and others. But, as the new schools open, the library contributions have dwindled and the need continues. Andrew Jackson Middle School has the most meagre collection at the present time.
