Find the center and the longest length in the hardwood floor area and start laying your 1st board there. Go both ways by adding a turnover slip on the groove side. When it gets to the edge, give it an expansion space. Wider the room more expansion space is needed. A narrow area: 1/4 and a huge area: 1/2-3/4 yet, located on the trim/baseboard's thickness . Why? It's the owner's desire to have it that way and nothing more to say about it.
