read moreWalks are critical to the mental and physical well-being of dogs. Our dog walks provide an opportunity for your best friend to have fun, socialize, and stay in shape. One of the greatest gifts you can give your dog is more time outside to experience new sights, sounds, and smells. Our walks take place in many different locations around the Oakland, Berkeley, and Emeryville area. Most dogs do well on group walks. In fact, they often prefer the experience of being part of the pack. We do offer private walks for those dogs that have reactivity issues with other dogs/people, have special needs (physical or emotional), or prefer one-on-one walks.

read moreOur facility is open seven days a week for all day play. Whether your dog is a shy wallflower, a social butterfly, or a ball playing jock/jockette, he or she is going to be comfortable and have a great time at Happy Hound. We even take extra, loving care with those who have separation anxiety (the dogs and the parents), to help them acclimate into the proper social group. At Happy Hound, all pets are interviewed and assessed to make sure they are friendly and will work well in our social environment.

read moreNon-holidays: During most of the year, you may cancel your reservation with no penalty up to one day prior to arrival. Cancellations that occur within one day prior to check-in will result in a one night charge per guest to the credit card on file. Holidays: During peak holiday dates, we implement a policy of non-refundable holiday deposits to ensure that clients reserving boarding stays are committed to using our services, allowing us to adequately prepare for the exact number of dogs that we will have in our care, as well as the number of staff that will be caring for them.

You'll see special play areas for small dogs, shy dogs and medium dogs-places filled with beds and toys-as well as our comfortable, private rooms for boarding where your pooch can get a peaceful night's sleep.
