Hearts On Fire

Gus Saettele Sr. Was a young man when World War II began. He enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Atlanta, Georgia doing precision work. While he was stationed there he got married and began a family. His new wife's uncle happened to be in the jewelry business. Gus was attracted to this industry because he enjoyed working with his hands and it was similar to the type of work he did in the service. When the war ended he moved his family back to St. Louis and began his own tiny jewelry shop doing bench work for local department stores.
