read moreThe Secondary Program consists of two classrooms, Level 6 and Level 7. These classrooms are designed to work with students in Middle School through High School. The Level 6 & 7 classrooms combine their students in formulating academic groups. We believe small group instruction allows us to better meet the individual needs of each child in the following areas: language/communication, social/emotional, behavior, and functional, pragmatic living skills. All activities and instruction are presented using direct instruction techniques.

read moreHi-Star Center provides a highly structured language and academic based curriculum. Hi-Star utilizes Direct Instruction, DISTAR and HighScope teaching techniques and curriculum. Direct Instruction is an instructional method that is focused on systematic curriculum design and skillful implementation of a prescribed behavioral script. On the premise that all students can learn and all teachers successfully teach if given effective training in specific techniques, teachers may be evaluated based on measureable student learning.
