read moreIn Westlake Village, one of Los Angeles's most northern suburbs, you'll find a 10,000-square-foot Mediterranean house that recently had a face-lift. The Villa Montagna became the 2018 Design Showcase house with proceeds going to benefit the Wellness Community-Valley/Ventura. One of the most important changes to the home was the theater and features Design and audio/video by Keith Willis of Innovative Theatres in West Hollywood. Willis, who studied both electronics and fine art at UCLA and spent eight years touring with performers such as Prince Lee Ritenour and Chick Corea as both an engineer and musician.

read moreThe vision of our client was to create an elegant ‘Deco' environment, rich in exotic vintage materials, but devoid of the stereotypical design excesses common to other ‘Art Deco' cinemas, elegant but tasteful. So, we integrated a custom, commercial exhaust system to accommodate the Cohiba Lounge, a cigar/martini area. Cinema La Cresta, designed and constructed with rich, layered woods, custom stainless steel doors and hand-cast chevrons laced with fiberoptic lighting. Radial-patterned acoustical absorber panels in the ceiling provide uncompromising room performance.

Innovative Theatres de-constructed the entire screening room to prepare for an entire makeover. We redesigned and built new acoustics, platforms and seating, and millwork. From a technical standpoint, Innovative Theatres provided a host of performance-based improvements, including: Architectural room acoustics, energy-efficient lighting, HVAC & noise management, custom designed editing workstation.
