James Williams Painting

When I started my painting career, I was working with my father. He had began the firm in 1962. I went to work when I was 18 years old, thinking I would be paid a wage just as the other painters. At the end of the 1st week we all sat around the kitchen table. That is where everyone met to get paid. After everyone else was paid, I was left sitting there waiting. After a several minutes (which seemed like forever) I asked, What about my pay? He looked me right in the eyes and said, Son, you have a roof over your head and food to eat. That is your pay. That is tough love!
