Jax Bar & Grill

Situated on the bottom floor of a 1920s building in the middle of downtown Glendale, JAX Bar & Grill was opened by restaurateur Jeff Williams in 1984. Inspired by the restaurant's turn-of-the-centry ambiance and stamped copper ceiling, JAX was originally conceived as a Cheers-style pub and sports bar. In 1985, one year after JAX' opening, Williams placed a stage between the long, narrow dining room and bar, introduced live jazz seven nights a week, and within six months founded JAX as one of Southern California's premier jazz supper clubs.
