Pediatric Dental Emergencies
read moreFind the tooth! Handle the tooth by the top or crown and not the root portion. You may rinse the tooth but DO NOT clean or scrub the tooth unnecessarily. Try to reinsert the tooth in its socket. Have the child hold the tooth in place by biting on a clean gauze or cloth. If you cannot replace the tooth, place the tooth in a glass of milk, some contact lens solution, or wrap it in a clean, wet cloth and call our office immediately. If the tooth is broken, bring any pieces you can find. First, apply ice.

Orthodontic Emergencies
read moreOccasionally, orthodontic appliances can break. This is not an emergency but we want you to call us at (919) 489-1543 and alert us as soon as possible. We can help you with the problem and schedule an appointment to have the appliance repaired. In general, if you can easily remove the broken appliance, do so (please remember to bring it to your appointment). If you cannot remove the broken piece, cover the protruding portion with your orthodontic wax. Please bring your current insurance card to your appointment so we can file your insurance claim for you.
New Patient Appointments
read moreIf you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please call and give our office as soon as possible. We understand schedules change and we would like to offer your time to another child who needs care. Cancellations or missed appointments without 24-hour notice are subject to a $25 fee (per child). We know your time is valuable and we do everything we can to stay "on schedule." Sometimes there are dental emergencies or unexpected patient conditions that cause us to run behind schedule. If this happens on your appointment day, out of respect for your time, we will talk with you personally and let you decide if you want to wait or reschedule the appointment.
