Gordon and Shari Kelly began doing business in a store in Front Street in NE Salem on April 15, 1974 after being told by so-called experts that it couldn't be done. The 1st store consisted of a total of 4, 000 square feet including the warehouse. And their 1st sale was a KitchenAid dishwasher, founding a relationship with both that client and manufacturer which continues to this day. The Kellys, along with 3 employees, set modest aims for the store as they raised their family.
