Acupuncture & Acupressure in Wilmington, NC
Acupuncture & Acupressure in Wilmington, NC I was born and raised here in Wilmington, NC. Like most of us, I grew-up playing basketball, soccer, and swimming. In 1984, I graduated from John T Hoggard High School as a Ronald Reagan scholar. In 1984, I enrolled in UNC-Chapel Hill and majored in Psychology. After Chapel Hill, I worked for 6 years in my family's jewelry business, Kingoff's Jewelers. I got my gemology degree and managed a retail store. I was fortunate to have had the experience of dealing with the public and learning how to run a business.

What To Expect
read moreFortunately for most people, the answer is "no". Occasionally, you may feel a pinch, but any discomfort is likely to be mild and short-lived. How long does a treatment take? Typically, it takes between 45-60 minutes. While there are many different theories, most often the needles are retained for 30 minutes. My clinical experience bears this out, in almost all but the most extreme circumstances. For some insights into why this is the right amount of time, you might enjoy reading this. Most pain, nausea, and headache patients feel some or substantial relief during the treatment.
Why Choose Kingoff Acupuncture
read moreIf you have read my patient reviews, you’ll see that I really listen. I was the same in Acupuncture school, I listened carefully to my teachers. My practice is based on developing a clear understanding of the whole person, their circumstances, needs, and goals. I don’t make assumptions, I ask questions and welcome yours. It may surprise you, but many acupuncturists know how they will treat any patient before they are even contacted. They use the same treatment on everyone, regardless of the condition or individual constitution.
Appointments & Office Hours
read moreWith Chinese medicine, knowing your current condition is just the start. We need to know how you got there and where you are heading. The approach is truly holistic, seeking to understand disease within the context of the individual. We begin with your medical history, then we explore your diet, exercise, sleep, work, and home life. We examine how these factors interact and how they effect your wellbeing. From this, a diagnosis is made and a care plan composed to meet your needs and goals. Follow up appointments are shorter, approximately 45 minutes.
