read moreThe mission of Lifescape Community Services is to promote independent living and enhance the quality of life for individuals by providing affordable nutrition and other services, with an emphasis on the aging population. Community Kitchen was founded in 1989 as a result of the Mayor's Task Force on Hunger. The goal was to provide a central kitchen where nutritious meals could be cost effectively prepared for "Meals on Wheels" home delivered meal program, senior group dining sites and low-income child day care centers.

read moreProvides nutritious meals in a variety of settings for individuals ages 60+. Meals on Wheels delivers directly to the homes of eligible individuals and provides a daily "safety check" for those who are homebound. Individuals with more mobility can visit one of our many Senior Dining Sites in Winnebago, Boone, Lee or Ogle counties. Our Senior Dining Sites offer socialization, scheduled activities and educational presentations. Diners 60+ years of age can also visit one of our many restaurant-based congregate sites for a nutritious meal.
