Lighthouse Point Memory

The not-for-profit mental health resource known as Spring Harbor was established in Greater Portland in 1999 when Maine Medical Center purchased the for-profit Jackson Brook Institute psychiatric hospital and its affiliated Smith House Counseling Centers. In October 2001, Spring Harbor became the freestanding mental health hospital of MaineHealth, the integrated healthcare delivery system for southern, central, and western Maine. Today, Spring Harbor plays both a regional and local role in mental health care in Maine.
