17 year-old Lithuanian David Stein arrived in New York. With little money and big hopes, David entered the plumbing trade. A dozen years later, David took his skills and expertise to Waterbury, Connecticut, opening a successful plumbing contracting business and an even more successful wholesale business, the Brass City Plumbing Supply Company. The firm relocated to Torrington in 1920, becoming Torrington Supply, and finally settled in Waterbury. The name and reputation for quality service and products soon became the gold standard for the industry.
