Medical Center in Athens, GA Mercy exists as an extension of the local Christian community and seeks to be an avenue of ministry for area churches. The vision for this ministry started to form in the fall of 1999 when God brought together a tiny group of individuals with a common desire to use medicine as a doorway to minister the requirements of the low-income uninsured in Athens, Georgia. For two years, this tiny group continued to pray about their vision, and as they did so, their group expanded. On September 10, 2001, Mercy opened with a prayer, and volunteers started to care for the medical, emotional, spiritual.

read moreMercy provides a number of clinical services for our underserved neighbors such as primary care, dental, gynecology, gastroenterology, physical therapy, neurology, vision care, orthopedics, rheumatology, nephrology, pulmonology, urology, and more. Medical care at Mercy is provided by staff and volunteer doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses. Mercy also offers wellness resources, behavioral health services, and an on-site pharmacy, which includes medication management (pharmacotherapy) and Mercy's Medication Assistance Program (MMAP).
Dental Services at Mercy Health
read moreMercy offers dental services to established patients such as dental cleanings, extractions, and fillings. Mercy does not provide emergency dental care. To schedule a dental appointment, established patients must call the dental line on the 1st Wednesday of the month starting at 1pm. The dental line number is 706-425-4044. Appointments are scheduled on a first come first serve basis until all appointments are filled.
