In 1991, my husband and I went on a nanny search for our three boys, only to discover how few qualified agencies there were in the area. As most families, we're a two income family with the need for superb childcare. With an infant, five and eight year-old, we did not want to struggle with the early morning drop off at the daycare or the evening pickup with the obvious strain such as working late or running late because of bad traffic, etc. This would make our quality time together as a family very minimal, so I began exploring alternatives.
