Metro Lighting was established in 1993 by Lawrence Grown, and started as a restoration firm for antique lighting fixtures. In time, Lawrence and his wife, Christa Rybczynski, who both hold degrees in Architecture, started using their knowledge of lighting and architectural history to create new designs, inspired and informed by Arts Nouveau and Craftsman aesthetics. Over the last 17 years, they have established an extensive range of original, modern and historically rooted designs.

Lawrence earned hisdegree in 1990 from theacclaimedarchitecture program at the University of Cincinnati. His passions are forproduct development, sustainable design, and organic architecture.
