Metropolitan West Asset Management

Just as their careers were taking off, a group of young executives at a bond investment boutique faced a difficult decision. Their company was being acquired and they had to choose between the short-term benefits of joining the new entity or branching out on their own. Opting for the more uncertain path, they resigned. The following day, August 1, 1996, they formed Metropolitan West Asset Management, or MetWest. Having worked together for years, they knew that they had something special: an exceptional staff dynamic and a shared set of investment philosophies.
