Millhiser Smith Agency

The Millhiser Insurance Agency was set up in 1928 by Harold Millhiser. The two-person office was situated on the 5th floor of the Guaranty Bank building in downtown Cedar Rapids. In 1947, shortly after the end of World War II, Forrest Smith became a partner and the company became known as Millhiser Smith Agency. The company has been situated at 3100 Oakland Road NE since 1979. Millhiser Smith currently employs 50 people and is one of the biggest locally-owned independent insurance agencies in eastern Iowa.
