Nardin Academy was established 151 years ago by the Daughters of the Heart of Mary, a society of religious women, as the 1st Catholic free school in the Diocese of Buffalo. In 1857, at the request of then Bishop Timon, Miss Ernestine Nardin, DHM, brought four women from Cleveland to his Diocese of Buffalo to answer a call. This simple act, so many years ago, reflects the charism of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary that remains alive in our school.

As the oldest Catholic independent school in Western New York, our rich educational tradition dates back to 1857 when our school was founded as St. Mary's Academy and Industrial Female School by the Daughters of the Heart of Mary (DHM), a society of Catholic women who sought to provide faith-based education to children, particularly girls, in the Buffalo diocese. For 160 years, Nardin Academy has continued to follow the examples set by these remarkable women.

With our generous donors, our endowment fund, and supporting activities like our athletic facility rentals to help fill the gap, every student's cost of education has already been supplemented by 15%. Tuition at Nardin is a range that spans from 40-85% of the full cost of education. Variable Tuition adjusts tuition rates to meet your family's financial position.
